DLSZ Launches Project Yakap: Visayas, A Stuffed-Toy Drive

De La Salle Santiago Zobel School (DLSZ) is making kids smile one BEARHUG at a time.

In an effort to mend and comfort the children displaced in Samar, Leyte, Cebu, and other cities in the Visayas region affected by Typhoon Yolanda, DLSZ partners with 1000bearhugs for our school’s Project Yakap: Visayas.
An advocacy group called 1000bearhugs has come up with a toy drive that can help traumatized children heal faster. These children need something to hug and hold on to in times of stress and fear. Stuffed toys like bears are effective comfort-givers to help them recover from trauma brought by Typhoon Yolanda.
Your “gently-used” teddy bears and stuffed toys can help the young survivors release their pain. If you can spare your old yet newly cleaned and in good condition huggable friends, please drop them at the St. La Salle Building entrance starting November 20 until December 6. Stuffed toys must be “huggable size” for children ages 3-12.
Send hugs to Visayas. Support DLSZ’s Project Yakap: Visayas.
