De La Salle Santiago Zobel School’s Symphonic Band garnered the Silver Award in the 5th Winter Band Festival held last November 30 – December 4, 2013 in Hong Kong. Â Nineteen bands from Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines participated in the said event. DLSZ Symphonic Band was the lone Philippine delegate that competed in the event.
Other than the competition held at the Concert Hall of Hong Kong University, the group attended several band workshops conducted by the band masters from Japan, Canada, USA, and Thailand. Â They also had a chance to perform at Hong Kong Disneyland’s Main Street.
Kudos to the Symphonic Band teachers and trainers, Ms. Nena Chavez and Mr. Linwell Lalic, respectively.
