Charter Change Education Series Focuses on Federalism

With the current public debate on the many proposals to change the 1987 Philippine Constitution, it is necessary to prepare the Lasallian community to make a political judgment if and when the time comes when the Filipino people will have to vote on the proposed changes in the political Philippine structure. Part of preparing the community is to heighten their awareness on the issues and implications of the different proposals. Questions like should the Philippines amend the 1987 Constitution? Should we shift to a federal form of government? Should we allow foreigners more involvement in the economy?   Should we permit foreign capital into utilities, education or media? These questions and the like have to be answered and studied well.

In order to provide a venue for Lasallians to engage in conversations on the said issue, the Lasallian Justice and Peace Commission in collaboration with the Social Action Office, HUMSS and Social Studies Units will organize a Charter Change Education Series with a special focus on Federalism here in DLSZ.

In this regard, we are inviting everyone to attend this very timely and relevant activity on the following schedule:
